The purpose of the architectural competition

The objective of the competition is to obtain the best architectural, spatio-functional and facility concept for the new seat of the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw, including land development, in the area indicated in Annex 7A as the scope of the competition study.

Architectural competition goal

The theme of the competition is the development of an architectural concept for the new headquarters of the International Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology in Warsaw and a coherent and comprehensive concept for the development of the area covered by the development of the competition in accordance with the limits specified in Annex 7A of the Regulations.

Evaluation Criteria
Study papers will be assessed against the following criteria that are equivalent in their category:

a) the attractiveness of the proposed architectural and development solutions,
b) the functional and operational efficiency of the building, in particular the space for laboratories and work rooms,
C) Maximizing the space and program in terms of the investment implementation cost.

Contest entries will be evaluated on the following criteria that are equivalent in their category:

a) the attractiveness of the proposed architectural and development solutions,
b) the functional and operational efficiency of the space and rooms of the new building,
c) functional correction and applied techniques of laboratories and specialized laboratories,
d) the use of pro-environmental and energy-saving solutions in a new building and in land development,
e) Economic feasibility and optimum utilization of the approved solutions in terms of the investment budget.
f) The degree to which operating and maintenance costs are included in the proposed solutions.

August 29, 2022 – Requests for Clarification of Regulations, Round Two

09/05/2022, 15:00 – Handing over of study studies

09/26/2022 – Qualification for the second stage

22/11/2022 – Requests for clarification of the regulations, third round

November 29, 2022, 3:00 pm – Handing in the competition works

16/12/2022 – Announcing the results of the competition

Awards

First prize: Total 35000.00 PLN

Second prize: Total 25000.00 PLN

3rd Prize – Total 15000.00 PLN

Two cash prizes in the form of distinctions, totaling PLN 10,000, for each entry into a competition are awarded.
