On May 22nd, at the amphitheater in Biasha, we will once again hear world-class blues music. It’s thanks to the 15th International Jubilee of the White Blues Festival. The organizer is none other than the Bialskopodlaskie Jazz Association. The festival will be hosted by Marcin Kossi, music journalist for Radio Gidinka.
Blues with a touch of funk and soul
This year, thanks to Garic Michaluk, Festival Director and initiator of the event, Lublin Street Band will be coming to Biała Podlaska, whose concert on that day will start at 5:15 PM..
Lublin Street Band is a thrilling orchestra, infused with a positive dose of jazz and funk energy. The band simultaneously performs a non-conductive version, as a street orchestra and in full voice, with a rich percussion section, and will perform at our festival in this extended version. Jazz, funk, soul, original compositions and all-new arrangements of well-known songs from gangster movies in an original performance – continues Jaroslav Michalukartistic director and founder of the Biawa Blues Festival.
On March 8, 2021, the band’s debut album “Od Mroku po Wschód” was released, which contains 10 original songs. The album received positive reviews and songs from the album are played on many radio stations.

– Łukasz Gorczyca is a guitarist and composer known for his collaborations with the most famous and attractive Polish and foreign musicians. He has played and recorded in most countries in Europe, USA and Asia with artists such as Wheatbread Johnson, Griff Hamlin, Patsy Gamble, Barry Richman, Alvon Johnson and Keith Thompson – as Jarek Michaluk confirms.

This time, Gorczica called Siggy Davis – a black-skinned, charismatic singer from New York with a strong voice. Over the years, she has appeared in Broadway theaters and has also starred in the films Spike Lee and Brian De Palma. In addition to Łukasz Gorczyca and Siggy Davis, we will also listen to musicians: Piotr Wojciechowski (bass, guitar), Roman Jońca (keyboards) and Tomek Dominik (drums). This party will be a lively mix of blues, soul and jazz.
The magic of guitar sounds
However, he will be the star of the evening Leszek Cichoński and guitar workshop. This party will start at 20:00. Leszek Cichoński is a guitarist, composer, lecturer and author of textbooks for guitarists. Recipient of the “Gloria Artis – Zasłużony Kulturze” Medal and the Medal “For Merit to the City of Wroclaw”. Leszek Cichoński will be heard on the program “Guitar Inspiration”.
The blues and rock guitar masters with Guitar Workshop will present their own versions of blues standards, works by Jimi Hendrix, BB King, Carlos Santana and Tadeusz Nalepa. The musician has performed at the biggest blues festivals in the world, incl. In Narooma, Australia and the Monterey Bay Blues Festival in California, where he and John “Broadway” Tucker Band opened an evening concert on the main stage of this festival, where they played, among others Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. It was the first and only performance of a mogul on the famous stage in Monterey – recounts the director of the Biawa Blues Festival.

This year’s festival will be accompanied by an auction, the proceeds of which will be allocated to humanitarian aid to Ukraine.
