At the end of April, the head of the Climate and Environment Agency announced that Poland will propose at the next EU Council a project to impose sanctions on energy imports from Russia via the “Russian ETS”, that is, a system similar to fees for carbon dioxide emissions. In its view, ETS could include “disdain” targets, similar to the EU’s decarbonization targets, broken down into individual sectors, raw materials, and member states.
